Bob has a varied background in economics, architecture, construction trades, investing, real estate, private and government employment. Bob has worked, lived, and traveled many places including Asia, Africa, and Europe, which add up to a background no one else has and one might say would be "cross training" that he can call upon to innovate for you and our government. Born and raised in western Washington, he understands the great State of Washington and Snohomish County.
Let's look at the budget for the State of Washington from the bottom up--a budget for what is actually needed, not increasing or band-aiding the last budget. We need to balance the budget with real dollars rather than accounting gimmicks, encourage private business growth and business relocation here, protect the citizens at risk, reduce government size, fully fund the State's retirement plan, restore trust in government by getting rid of elected officials who ignored the will of the people and suspended the initiative that would require a vote of the people to raise taxes. Let us not allow the growth of government dampen the economy, and let us not transfer the irresponsible debt to our children and grandchildren.
Bob believes that in balancing the budget we need to take care of public safety, our schools (Washington deserves World Class Schools), and the most needy as priorities. That is, to fully fund basic important programs first! We need to look to all other programs so the citizens get the greatest benefit for the minimum cost.
